A Month of Thanks - Day 8 - Scribbles
Part of moving was finding a new daycare for Zachary. After the small, in-home style place we loved while living in our old home, a center-style daycare was a really new thing for us. I was worried about it - would he be lost in the shuffle, would he get the attention he was getting from our previous daycare provider? We couldn’t be happier. He absolutely loves his school and I continue to be amazed at all the neat things they do with these kids! His language has exploded and he’s learning so much!
It’s a super structured, school environment, so I feel confident that the transition into elementary school will feel like the next step for him. They have tons of fun days for the kids - today is actually pajama day. He gets recess time where he’s playing with other kids in his age group. They have theme weeks - last year farm week was a particular favorite!
The staff is wonderful and really care about the students. We appreciate them so much! They open early enough for Dennis to drop off before work, and stay open late enough that I can coordinate staying after school or concerts and still have converage.
A little over a year later, and it still feels amazing to have a place right down the street. It’s a 8 minute drive! We were on a wait list for a couple of months and I’m so happy that things fell into place!
Every day on the way home he says “I had a great day at my school!” and when he leaves he goes to the staff members and says goodbye to them. He’s really made a home there and we’re so thankful!
Graduation last year from being a Wiggler 2. Now he’s a Scribbler - the Preschool Room. They did an entire graduation celebration. The kids wore wings because they changed from catepilars into butterflies. They sang songs, did their alphabet, did a name game, and they each got called up for their certificate. It was the cutest thing ever.
November is one of my favorite times of year. It’s getting cozy and we aren’t yet in the thick of the Christmas season quite yet. I’m thinking about the ways I’m thankful and would love for you to join me. Comment below or use the hashtag #amonthofthanks
