A Month of Thanks - Day 22 - Sleep
Perhaps it’s just the mental space I’m in at the moment. But I’m so thankful for sleep. I’m thankful that I’m the kind of person who falls asleep immediately. I look at the stats on my Apple Watch. I’m asleep within minutes - it’s at the point where if I sleep elsewhere with friends or whatever I need to warn them because it’s disconcerting. We’re mid-conversation and all of a sudden I’m just gone.
And I’m beyond thankful that my kids are getting to the age where they’re starting to sleep in just a little on the weekends… or at least they aren’t waking us up right away. And if Zach wakes and realizes Dominic is awake in his room playing, he just says “hey Dominic!” and goes in there to join him. We get a few extra minutes. I think by this time next year we’ll be at the point when they can go downstairs for a little bit and play and we can get an extra hour or so. This is going to be a game changer for us.
I don’t need to sleep late. Late to me is 7:00 or 7:30. We’re so close.
November is one of my favorite times of year. It’s getting cozy and we aren’t yet in the thick of the Christmas season quite yet. I’m thinking about the ways I’m thankful and would love for you to join me. Comment below or use the hashtag #amonthofthanks
