Goodbye 2019!

Goodbye 2019!

2019 was entirely spent in our new house. It was our time to figure out our new community. It was our time to make new friends. It was our time to adjust to having a school-aged child.

I enjoyed, for the first time, the bliss of having my kids be at school while I am home. I read more books than I have in years.

Dominic learned that he loved swimming. He discovered that he loves to read and his ability skyrocketed. He started to navigate school and learn to control his impulses - a thing we’re still working on. He made friends - real friends, like kids he will continue to be in contact with for a long time.

Zachary came out of his shell. He stopped being so hesitant of new people and started being super friendly, both with other children and with adults. His language exploded - he now communicates with us in full sentences and we can explain things to him. He started playing imaginative games with Dominic - they play doctor, or garbage man. He’s continued to develop his funny personality.

We spent last winter sledding in the yard. In the spring we finally planted grass and felt a lot more settled. Summertime was spent with trips to the beach and the lake. Swimming lessons and playing in the yard. Fall felt a million times more settled - both at work and at home.

I’m excited for 2020. Dennis and I both have milestone birthdays. I want to continue to think about the person I want to become and work towards that goal.

Welcome, 2020!
