Music Rec. - My Fall Playlist
My musical tastes range incredibly wide.
I’ve always had playlists of instrumental music that I like to listen to while working. This background music got me through high school and college homework (it was mixed CDs back then). As an adult it’s the background to my prep periods. Once I had kids, I would always put it on in the house while they were playing, or just doing stuff in the house. They’re older now, so I usually put it on when we get home from school - I’m unloading the dishwasher and backpacks and they’re doing homework (we’ve come full circle).
These instrumental playlists aren’t classical music. That would be too engaging for my brain. No classical. No lyrics. My wonderful viola teacher, Mimi, was amused by this until I explained a little about what I was using the music for. Then she said “Oh! It’s wallpaper music!” and she’s absolutely correct!
Most of the music I listen to follows the seasons. It’s the way my brain codes things - by time of year. I’ve got a few “fall” playlists - I’ll share them with you in another post. For now, you can click HERE to listen to my fall instrumental (wallpaper) playlist. Everything on there gives me fall vibes for one reason or another - and it’s definitely my most eclectic wallpaper playlist. There’s some piano, some medieval vocal tracks (sung in Latin - so it isn’t distracting), and a bunch of tracks from a video game (World of Warcraft - which, you guessed it, was something I played for the first time in the fall). The fun thing is, I’ve had this list so long, I could put it on in July and it brings me to foliage and pumpkins and crisp mornings!
Happy listening - maybe this will give you a nice backdrop for getting things done!
